Arcade.exe is a free multi-emulator frontend for Windows.
The website for arcade.exe is at http://81.144.173.19/arcade/index.htm.

FEATURES:

  • Arcade.exe is a front-end that can automate the process of running game roms with most emulators, whether or not such emulator accepts command line parameters.
  • Free and no registration etc. required.
  • Works on any Windows platform from 95 to XP.
  • Very simple to use.
  • No installation necessary, just download "Arcade.exe" and then run it. It makes no changes to your registry settings and contains no spyware.
  • Only 2.5Mb (thanks to the UPX EXE file compression utility), so download time is approximately 6 minutes on a 56k connection.
  • Automatically configures itself to work with Callus, Epsxe, Final Burn, Mame, Mame32, Mame Plus, Modeler, Nebula, Nebula 2, Project 64, Project Tempest, UltraHLE, Winkawaks, Visual Pinball, Viva Nonno, Zinc and many others (see "Links" for a more complete list).
  • Can be manually configured to work with virtually any other emulator.
  • Multiple game/ROM folders can be specified for each emulator.
  • Built in scripting language to automatically run games with emulators that do not accept command line parameters (scripts to automatically run Finalburn, Modeler, Nebula 2, Project Tempest, UltraHLE, Visual Pinball, Viva Nonno, Winkawaks, and Zinc are provided).
  • The "Scan for Emulators" feature can be used to automatically reconfigure arcade.exe if emulator programs and files are moved to different folders (or new ones are added).
  • Displays game screenshots (png format).
  • The arcade.exe settings tab allows you to choose which of the following columns arcade.exe should display: Game Description, Emulator, Game Filename, Year, Manufacturer, File Date, File Size, Parent Rom, Game File Path, Working (Y or N)?, Clone (Y or N)?, Record Number, Genre, Category, Driver, Resolution, Version Added, Bios, Adult Content and Rom Set. You can also sort the database items based on any one or more of these items.
  • Import data into database from Tosec, Romcenter, Goodroms, Catlist wizsort.ini files or from a user created file.
  • Arcade.exe will automatically add Additional game data for Modeler, Vivanonno, Nebula 2 and Zinc games (Game Description, Year, Manufacturer, Parent Rom, Working, Clone, Genre, Category, Driver, Resolution and Version Added columns).
  • Intuitive ROM search feature makes it easy to find a specific game.
  • Quick select any of the last twenty games played.
  • "Anti-tamper" password facility allows you to protect all, some or none of the arcade.exe's features such as delete games, copy games, edit screenshots etc.
  • Display your own custom notes and tips for each game (includes notes and tips files for Modeler, Nebula 2, Viva Nonno and Zinc).
  • "Delete Rom" and "Game Copy" features allow multiple games along with their corresponding screenshot, flyer and cabinet files to be either deleted or moved to a different folder in a single step.

MAME SPECIFIC FEATURES: -

  • Includes an internal list of all Mame games that work on version 0.102, but can interrogate Mame to obtain a more up to date list at any time.
  • Displays Mame mameinfo.dat and history.dat files.
  • Provides GUI access to all current Mame folder, display, sound, input and miscellaneous game options (and new ones via the "additional parameters" list).
  • Default Mame game options can be set for all Mame games using "default options" and default Mame game options can be overridden on an individual game basis.
  • Source code available: - check the website for instructions. This is in *Delphi 5/6 format and includes several components that will need installing.
