You will want to do most of your work on some sort of stand. Getting down on your knees repeatedly to mark dimensions or cut something will get old quickly.
The stand can take many different shapes, but the standard sawhorse works well. Any of a number of other items can be used, such as a dedicated workbench, if you have one, or several overturned 5-gallon buckets.
